Frederick Lynch (Born 1935, Lynn, Massachusetts) Personal History 1955 - 2016
1955-57: US Army. Attended Army Language School, Monterey, CA. Served two years overseas in Frankfurt, West Germany as a courier to West Berlin.
1958-62: BFA, Massachusetts College of Art, Painting and Printmaking.
1962-64: Art Supervisor, Huntington School Union, western Massachusetts.
1964: Masters degree inEducation, Westfield State College, Westfield, Massachusetts.
1964-72:
- Assistant Professor, Westfield State College.
- Travel to Spain and Portugal.
- Travel to Italy.
- Studies at Instituto-Allende, San Miguel, Mexico
1972-76: Moved to Lubec, Maine. Attended Boat Building School, restored a home and studio. Began painting full time.
1976-83:
- Studios in Portland and Springvale, ME.
- One person show in Bern, Switzerland.
- Travel to Austria, Belgium.
1981-06:
- Instructor at University of Southern Maine, Gorham ME.1984 Travel to London, Ireland, France and Holland.1985
- One Person show, Portland Museum of Art. 1986
- Permanent Installation of 7 large paintings in Portland Public Library, Portland. ME. 1988
- First trip to New Mexico. 1993
